Bahia Principe's Escape sub-brand is the chain's adults-only product, and the Samaná property runs at $2,079 a week — closer to a domestic US beach hotel rate than to a Caribbean adults-only AI. The score (91.3) at that price point is the cleanest math on the index for the segment.

The Samaná location is doing the work on the value. The peninsula isn't on the standard Punta Cana pipeline, off-resort infrastructure is thinner, and the demographic skews more Spanish and European than Bavaro. The trade-off shows up in the room product (functional, not flashy) and the food (buffet-led, with à la carte as the upgrade) — this isn't an Excellence-tier resort at one-third the price, it's a different product that scores well.

What you're paying for: a strict adults-only Caribbean week at a number that doesn't usually buy strict adults-only Caribbean at all, on a peninsula the volume strip hasn't reached. Whale-watching from January through March is the rare excursion the property can offer that Bavaro can't. For couples shopping cheap, adults-only, and rated, this beats every other DR entry.
