Club Med Miches Playa Esmeralda - Dominican Republic

What it is.
Club Med's newest Caribbean property, and the cleanest expression of where the brand is going. Miches sits on the rural east coast — between Punta Cana and Samaná, on a stretch of beach without other major resorts — and splits into adults-only and family zones with shared back-end. The score (93.5) puts it among the top family bookings in the country.
The Club Med template does specific things well that the AMResorts and Iberostar machines don't. The kids' programming is genuinely sport-and-activity rather than babysitting-with-a-pool, the food includes the brand's multi-station setup, and the watersports (sailing, windsurfing) is core product rather than an upcharge. At $10,969 a week, it's priced at the top of the DR band.
What you're paying for: a structurally different all-inclusive than the Punta Cana norm — closer to a European holiday camp than a Caribbean buffet resort, on a beach the volume strip hasn't reached. The trade-off is the location — Miches is a real transfer from PUJ (2 hours), and off-resort infrastructure is minimal. For families who want activity-led rather than sun-and-buffet, this is the right book.
