Sandals dominates Montego Bay's adults-only volume segment with multiple properties on the island.

What works in Jamaica: real couples-only enforcement at the top end (Couples, Sandals Royal Plantation, Sandals Dunn's River), the Caribbean's most photographable cliff-side properties at the Negril cliffs (The Caves, Rockhouse), genuine cultural texture that other Caribbean AI destinations lack — the food, the music, the rum — and consistent year-round weather outside the September–October hurricane stretch.

What to weigh: the resort-to-attraction transfer is real. Montego Bay airport is in the middle of nothing; Negril is 90 minutes west, Ocho Rios is 90 minutes east, and the highways are not US-quality. The Sandals brand operates roughly six properties on the island and the pricing tiers can be opaque — the name on the door is a less reliable signal of what you're getting than at any other large Caribbean operator. And the budget floor here is higher than in Mexico or the DR; cheap Jamaica is the rare configuration.

The honest filter: Jamaica is correct for couples-only at scale and for boutique adults-only at the top end. It's underweighted for budget travel or large families. The Sandals premium is real and mostly delivers; the Couples premium is also real and arguably delivers more honestly per dollar.
